Greatfon — anonymous Instagram viewer
Public accounts only; stories now live, saved highlight sets, grid posts, reels. No sign-in.
No lookup log is kept by this site.
greatfon.net is a free lookup tool for public Instagram accounts. Type a handle above; four tabs load on this page, anonymously: any story up right now, grid posts, reels, each highlight set. Download: one button per item, files left unmarked.
What this viewer opens
Per public account, four tabs:
- Stories: items live on the account right now. Each one lapses a day after upload.
- Posts: grid photos and videos, newest first, more on scroll. Each post arrives with its caption plus its like and comment tallies; the comment tally doubles as a button that lists them.
- Reels: every short clip the profile posted, collected in a tab of its own.
- Highlights: story sets kept on the profile after the 24 hours ran out.
Saving: a button on every item, the profile picture included. Left out on purpose: any like or comment control, so a stray tap does nothing. Each follower counter, tapped, brings up the opening batch of names. Point it at a private profile and you get the top card with a Private tag, no more, because Instagram keeps the rest for the follow requests its owner accepted, and nothing on this page gets around it.
Viewing stories on greatfon.net, step by step
Four moves, and nothing to set up first.
- Grab the handle or profile URL wherever you saw it.
- Paste that into the lookup field up top and hit the button.
- Switch to Stories. Blank tab: no story live at the moment; Highlights is the next stop.
- Download sits under each item.
Login count: zero. The request never passes through a session you are signed in to, so the story’s viewer list gets no entry with your name; none of your accounts takes part, which keeps the lookup anonymous. Possible on the owner’s side: one extra view from an unrecognised account, never yours. Seen by the outside data provider doing the fetch: the requested handle, forwarded from greatfon.net’s server; your IP address never reaches it. Photos stream in from Instagram’s CDN, which logs your IP, as any server logs the requests it answers; clips are relayed by greatfon.net.
Why use this site
- Zero password prompts. No field here wants your Instagram login. Treat any viewer that does as a red flag.
- No lookup log. Searched handles are not recorded by the site. The short recent-lookups list is
kept by your own browser and never uploaded. The one exception is the
/?u=address every lookup opens, which reaches routine host logs like any URL. - Clear error messages. When a lookup fails on a rate limit or an unknown handle, the page says so and counts down to a Retry button instead of going blank.
- Costs nothing. The whole tool is free, and there is no premium plan to upgrade to.
Greatfon, short answers
Is Greatfon down?
Test a big public account first. If its grid loads, lookups here work at that moment; a countdown means a rate limit or a failed fetch, and the Run again button returns when it ends. Each message, decoded.
What is a good Greatfon alternative?
Lookup box up top, public accounts only: stories, highlight sets, grid posts, reels. A tool that asks for a password or promises private profiles: close that tab. Four addresses compared, job by job.
Is it safe to use greatfon.net?
Browser tab only, no password field anywhere, no lookup log on the site side. The data supplier pulling each profile is handed the handle, not your IP; photos come off Instagram's CDN, which logs it; clips pass via greatfon.net.
Which tabs does Greatfon show for an account?
Four. Stories comes first, followed by the post grid, Reels and finally Highlights. Each post card: caption, like count, comment count; the comments open in the post viewer. The two follower counters open lists. Liking and commenting: not possible from this page.
Where is my list of recent lookups kept?
In your own browser. "Your recent lookups" holds the last 10 handles on that device and is never uploaded. Wipe list clears it. Private window: gone once closed.
Can I save stories and posts?
Yes. Download button: on every story, highlight frame, post and reel, and on the full-size profile picture. Destination: the browser's normal downloads folder. No watermark on the file, no app or extension to install first, and one tap per item.
Why does a profile show no stories?
Most often: no story live right now. Each one lapses 24 hours after upload, so check the Highlights tab. A failed lookup shows something else: a message naming a rate limit or an unknown handle, then a countdown to Run again.
